The 5th International Partnership for Technology in Peacekeeping Symposium

The Department of Operational Support and the Operations Support Division of the Office of Information and Communications Technology, in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, will host the fifth international Partnership for Technology in Peacekeeping (PTP) symposium in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, from 28 to 31 May 2019.

The symposium brings together a wide range of peacekeeping partners to explore creative and collaborative opportunities that can enhance the enabling role of field technologies in mandate implementation. This is a pivotal event in support of the field technology strategy, targeting the needs and challenges on the ground and leveraging the use of technology to meet operational requirements.

Past symposia have proven to be effective and successful platforms to achieve actual outcomes that have impacted missions almost immediately, and to find ways to utilize and redirect existing capacities in a mutually beneficial way.

With the theme "Predict, Prevent, Protect", the core topics of the 2019 four-day event will be

  • Big Data Analysis in Peace Operations
  • Emerging Technologies and Eco Responsibility
  • Enhancing Peacekeeping Intelligence Practices Utilizing Technology
  • Improvised Explosive Devices and Other Asymmetric Threats
  • Utilizing Telehealth in Field Environments
