What brought you to a career in technology at the United Nations?

I have always been passionate about leveraging technology for positive impact, my journey into a tech career at the United Nations stems from a robust background in Information Systems, ERP & MIS, and university lecturing. Aligning with the UN's mission, I bring a blend of technical acumen, adaptability, and a passion for continuous learning to contribute effectively to sustainable development initiatives.

 

What has been your favorite IT project at the United Nations and what was your technical contribution?

My standout IT project at the United Nations involved spearheading data analysis and reporting initiatives, I am contributing to the data analysis project within the mission and working on creating dashboards for different departments related to their business to enable them to make data-driven decisions in the future. Utilizing my expertise in Information Systems, I enhanced efficiency by troubleshooting ICT issues, and proposing innovative solutions. My technical contributions ensured accurate reporting, fostering informed decision-making within the Organization.

 

What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?

I encourage women aspiring to enter the tech field, my advice is to embrace curiosity and continuous learning. Leverage networking opportunities, seek mentorship, and confidently showcase your skills. Remember, diversity strengthens the tech landscape, and your unique perspectives contribute immensely to innovation and progress.
