What brought you to a career in technology at the United Nations?

I found that as a Data Scientist, my work could have many possible applications in the industry and organizations. But, I wanted my work to have a positive social impact. Until now I have collaborated with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on very interesting and high-impact projects.

 

What has been your favorite IT project at the United Nations and what was your technical contribution?

Work at the UNODC-National Institute of Statistics and Geography Center of Excellence, participating in Data Science projects, statistics and process design for Latin America and the Caribbean.

 

What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?

Science and technology have very interesting and fun fields with many areas of specialization. The feeling of solving a problem is gratifying. Let's put prejudices aside and close the gap!
