What brought you to a career in technology at the United Nations?

Being able to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) for good. I truly believe that AI can help achieve the sustainable development goals if used responsibly and in compliance with Human Rights.

What has been your favorite IT project at the United Nations and what was your technical contribution?

I have been involved in the development of an online platform - the AI for Safer Children Global Hub - to support law enforcement officers to fight child sexual exploitation and abuse online. The platform provides information about AI tools that can help officers identify and rescue children faster while minimizing their exposure to traumatic materials.

What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?

Technology, and AI in particular, is a powerful tool that can have a big impact in the World. For this reason AI design and development must be inclusive so that the end result can benefit the highest number of people in the world.
