What brought you to a career in technology at the United Nations?

I worked at the UN as a young professional first then left for 10 years working in the open data/open gov movement outside of the UN. Always hoped to come back with relevant external experience to support the UN mandate.

What has been your favorite IT project at the United Nations and what was your technical contribution?

I love working on UN reform, I worked on Kofi Annan's reforms and am proud to see how far we have come with SG Gutteres'. Currently working on a joint UN offer on digital transformation for the Joint SDG Fund and it's brilliant seeing agencies coming together to create something greater than the sum of their parts!

What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?

I learned so much on my own (thanks Youtube!) Pull yourself up by your bootstraps don't be afraid to ask questions, don't be afraid to ask for help (the universe will answer your call!) - never lose your sense of passion, play and curiosity- it will propel you to great places!
