What brought you to a career in technology at the United Nations?

As the world is moving towards modern technology and the UN is well-positioned to learn new technologies at its own expense, I agreed to follow its lead.

What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?

My favorite IT project at the United Nations has been working on data analytics at the Service Desk, specifically exporting data to create dashboards using Power BI for our Digital Solution Center. I particularly enjoyed contributing to a Power BI dashboard project that provided analytics to support our Client Support Service. Developing Power BI dashboards to enhance our service desk capabilities has been a highlight of my UN career so far./p>

What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?

I want to encourage all women to: Understand gender biases that may exist in the tech industry and use inclusive language. Acknowledge the achievements of other women in tech. Advocate for flexibility and women in leadership roles. Develop a strong network of mentors and allies. Connect with female tech entrepreneurs to share best practices. Actively participate in growing and developing your community's digital infrastructure.
