What brought you to a career in technology at the United Nations?

I was sent to MINURSO as a UNMO. I stayed at the Team Site for 3 months, and then there was a vacancy in the GIS section. I had an interview, and as I am a cartographic engineer with a master's degree in geoinformation and earth observation, I was selected to work in the GIS section.

What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?

It is the daily work, where I can create maps and clarify situations for better decision-making by the staff.

What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?

Sometimes people say that the technology field is more of a men's thing, but it is not. We also have the capabilities, knowledge, and passion to work with it. So, whatever you want to do in your life, do it as if your life depends on it, and you will achieve it.
