What brought you to a career in technology at the United Nations?

My passion for technology has always been driven by my desire to make a positive impact on the world and shape a brighter future. Joining the UN felt like reaching a realm of boundless possibilities, where I could seamlessly merge technology with my heartfelt aspirations to make a global impact in areas that deeply resonate with me – peace, human rights, child protection, diversity, empowering women, and environmental care. This alignment with the UN's commitment to these crucial values solidified my decision to pursue a career in technology at the organization. After nearly a decade of continuous growth and meaningful contributions within this dynamic and impactful environment, I can confidently state that joining the UN has been one of the most enriching decisions of my life.

What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?

I've had the privilege of working on a variety of impactful IT projects that have enriched my professional and personal experiences. Among these, I'm particularly proud of my role in managing research, development, and implementation of advanced monitoring systems for both cloud-based and on-premises resources and applications. These projects, characterized by intricate technical challenges and substantial rewards, demanded a comprehensive understanding of the organization's core IT infrastructure and applications. My primary focus was on identifying critical operational components and crafting solutions to ensure their seamless operation, thereby minimizing service disruptions, enhancing operational efficiency, and significantly boosting the UN's global operational effectiveness. This project not only honed my technical expertise but also instilled in me a sense of pride in contributing to the smooth functioning of the UN's critical systems.
