What brought you to a career in technology at the United Nations?

I always seek true innovation driven by impactful results and I think analytically, through an interdisciplinary and critical perspective. I believe that technology has the potential to enhance and expand human experiences, but I recognize that are important issues when it comes to privacy, security and social responsibility. My fascination lies in the possibility of using creativity to overcome challenges and redirecting its power to promote human rights.

What has been your favorite IT project at the United Nations and what was your technical contribution?

The Global Programme on Cybercrime. I am the Associate Cybercrime Programme Officer, criminal lawyer expert in cybercrime and digital evidence in UNODC Regional Office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific.

What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?

Pursue your passion, seek out and build supportive community of other women in tech. Don’t be held by imposter syndrome and believe in yourself and in your power to shape the future in the field.
