OneDrive - access your files from anywhere and on any device
Imagine you’re on a conference call with colleagues and need to access an important file, however, you’re not at your workstation. No need to worry, with OneDrive for Business you can access your files from anywhere on any connected device.
As the UN workforce becomes increasingly mobile, flexible work arrangements and remote work are becoming an everyday reality, requiring a robust set of tools that support mobile access, information sharing and collaboration. To meet this new and growing demand, the Department of Management’s Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) is rolling out OneDrive for Business following the migration to Unite Mail (Microsoft Outlook and Office 365).
OneDrive for Business lets you save files on the Office 365 cloud, and features state-of-the-art security features. You access OneDrive with the same login as Unite Mail: your United Nations email address and Unite Identity password.
In addition to being able to access to your files from anywhere using any connected device, this new file storage tool provides many other advantages:
-
share files with colleagues
-
simultaneous editing/co-authoring of documents
-
files are protected from hard drive failure and accidental data loss
-
24/7 support via Unite Service Desk (iseek.un.org/unite-service-desk)
Sensitive information (as defined in ST/SBG/2007/6) should not be saved in OneDrive.
OneDrive for Business will be progressively rolled out to personnel who have already been migrated to Unite Mail. You will be notified by email when OneDrive has been installed on your computer and activated for you. You will then be able to move the files from your workstation or network drives to OneDrive and start syncing across devices.
Please complete a short survey on OneDrive. Your input is greatly appreciated.
