What brought you to a career in technology at the United Nations?

Growing up, I was always interested in technology and how it could be used to positively impact people's lives. I was fascinated by the idea of using IT to connect people from different parts of the world. One of my memorable experiences was working in the private sector to qualify and support people from different parts of the world, and to pursue my career goal of being accepted at the United Nations.

What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?

One of my favourite IT support experiences at the UN was when I helped establish support and maintenance mobility equipment procedures. For example, I worked closely with the IT focal points to identify ways to simplify the process and communication to reduce the number of equipment maintenance and cost concerns, which resulted in a significant of reducing the number of broken and cost savings.

What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?

My advice is "Be Confident". Even though women are underrepresented in technology, it is important for them to feel confident in their abilities. They should believe in themselves and their skills.Don't be afraid to take risks and pursue your goals.
