Why did you decide on a career at the UN?
I decided to join UN after completing my Doctoral Training in the field of International Political Economy. UN is the idealist place for me to devote myself to promote sustainable development of the world. My knowledge in economics and quantitative research skills developed in academia can contribute to the work at UNCTAD.
What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?
My involvement in the UNCTAD's Flagship Report: Trade and Development Report. I'm excited about this job because it is the one of the most important Macroeconomic report in the world, paying specific attention to the developing economies.
My contributions include serving as one of the major members in drafting chapters of the Trade and Development Report (TDR), supporting colleagues with data analysis for the TDR and other assignments, and overseeing the development of the analytical dashboard.
What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?
Don’t be afraid, technology is for everyone. It’s transforming every discipline. Be curious, explore tools, and embrace learning. You don’t need to be an expert to start; just start.
