Why did you decide on a career at the UN?
With certificates in project management and ITIL, along with a Master of Arts in organisational psychology, I was inspired by the UN’s mission of peace and development because it reflects my core values and what is meaningful to me. I wanted to dedicate my career to something greater than myself - helping to build a better world for people and our planet.
What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?
My favorite UN technology initiative is the digital transformation across the system. Since joining in 2002, I have witnessed the shift from paper to digital platforms. I contribute through user experience, ensuring tools are accessible, intuitive, and effective. Daily, I use digital repositories, virtual meetings, and collaboration platforms to support knowledge sharing and streamline workflows.
What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?
In a world shaped by humans and AI, we need wisdom, consciousness, and kindness. The future isn’t just smart; it must be mindful, peaceful, and prosperous. Embrace technology with heart and responsibility. Stay curious, keep learning, and see technology as a tool for positive change that benefits all people and our planet.
