Why did you decide on a career at the UN?

Joining the UN offered an opportunity to pursue my aspiration in advancing the sustainable development agenda, first at the country level, then at the regional and global levels.

What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?

Supporting the digital transformation of the public sector and service delivery became one of my favorite areas of work at the UN. I am part of the team that prepares and publishes biannually the UN E-Government Survey, which allows 193 Member States to track their progress in digital development, understand the global and regional trends in frontier technology adoption in the public sector and much more. I make data analysis visually more appealing and clearer to the audience and contribute to the dissemination of survey findings and the capacity-building efforts of our division.

Another favorite aspect of my work is designing and delivering country-level innovative projects on the use of ICT in the public sector for sustainable development. This includes projects on open government data governance and technology adoption through regulatory sandboxes.

What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?

Technology and its adoption require more than technical skills. Whatever you are doing now or have a passion to pursue in the future is already influenced by technological advancement. This trend will continue, so why not be part of it, shape it and excel to the best of your potential.
