Why did you decide on a career at the UN?
My decision to pursue a career in technology at the United Nations stems from a desire to work alongside people who share the same values and contribute to meaningful progress on a global scale.
What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?
My favorite technology project was the UN Human Rights Library catalogue project. In the Library catalogue project, I developed automated data workflows to batch upload curated digital human rights resources into the library system, enriching the library catalogue in the process. I also participated in the UN Human Rights Knowledge Gateway project, where I designed the UI/UX of the landing page to enhance the user experience of accessing human rights knowledge. Both projects were deeply meaningful experiences as they aimed to improve the accessibility of valuable knowledge through technology.
What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?
Believe that you can do it. Share your experiences and ask a mentor for help. Your unique ideas combined with technology can create a better world.
