What brought you to a career in technology at the United Nations?
I decided on a career at the UN because I want to experience international work, work in the field of peacekeeping, enjoy diversity, learn different languages and cultures. Also, this would be beneficial to upgrade my financial status.
What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?
From Technology my Choice is multimedia. I have been working in multimedia and design since 2012. A multimedia designer combines various digital media elements to create visually stunning and interactive content. Multimedia designers’ work is essential for creating impactful advertising campaigns, branding, and product launches. Furthermore, multimedia design plays an important role in education, entertainment, and news broadcasting, making it a critical component of the media industry.
What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?
Technology doesn't say male or female; work is work. Those who do well can advance. I think women can and often do perform better than men in technology. Women are especially good at building relationships with their peers and subordinates. They do this through collaboration. Having a woman manager can encourage other group members, who might not otherwise participate, to engage more actively in discussions and projects. Because women are less likely to focus on competition and are generally more comfortable sharing power, other people who might normally feel uncomfortable in groups might be encouraged to share their ideas.
