What brought you to a career in technology at the United Nations?

I studied Logic and Fundamental Mathematics as well as Project Management before joining the UN for a Programme Management internship in NYC. When a data analyst job in Cyprus was advertised, my internship supervisors encouraged me to apply.

What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?

Refining the Unite Aware platform to incorporate tools allowing near real-time in-depth analysis of the operational situation. My contribution was assessing the needs in the mission, exploring the technical options, building mock-ups, leading a mission working group, liaising with developers and with strategic teams for the tools implementation.

What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?

Never censor yourself, don't doubt yourself too much, don't hesitate to speak up.
