Why did you decide on a career at the UN?
At the UN, I see the opportunity to bring both perspectives together; to build systems that empower communities. It’s a space where innovation meets intention, and that’s exactly the kind of impact I aspire to create.
What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?
One of my favorite projects at the United Nations has been developing digital platforms (such as Arab Development Portal ADP), that make complex data accessible and meaningful for diverse audiences — particularly through interactive dashboards and user-centered web experiences. What I loved most about this initiative was its purpose: turning information into insight, and technology into a tool for awareness and positive change.
What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?
As a software engineer and a yoga teacher, I’ve learned that balance is key, whether in code or in life. Yoga has taught me patience, focus, and presence; qualities that translate beautifully into the world of technology. So, don’t be afraid to bring your compassion and creativity into your work. The tech world needs more women who code with both precision and purpose, and who remind it that progress is most powerful when it’s mindful.
