Why did you decide on a career at the UN?

I wanted to be part of an ecosystem that designs cities and reimagines them as inclusive and equitable spaces for all. Working at UN-Habitat provides me with that platform where architecture, technology and inclusivity can intersect and allow me to contribute to global development agendas and address local realities, especially around gender equity and sustainable urbanization.

What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?

One of my favourite initiatives has been engaging with the GeoAI Toolkit for Urban Planners, which applies artificial intelligence to enhance data analysis and decision-making in urban planning. I reviewed the toolkit with a focus on gender-responsive housing planning processes, ensuring that innovation remains people-centered and equitable.

What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?

Technology is no longer a standalone discipline; it’s a transformational tool that cuts across every sector. My advice: don’t wait to feel “technical enough” to step in. Instead, bring your unique perspective and creativity because these are the things shaping the next wave of digital innovation. Whether you’re in planning, design, governance, or advocacy, there’s always room to use tech to drive equity and inclusion.
