Medical Coordinator Officer, Medical Unit
What brought you to a career in technology at the United Nations?
My journey into technology at the United Nations was driven by my deep commitment to humanitarian work and the belief that technology is a powerful tool for enhancing the impact of our mission. My background in healthcare coordination and leadership in medical units has shown me how technology can bridge gaps, improve efficiency and provide better support to both personnel and the communities we serve. Embracing innovative solutions has allowed me to adapt and respond effectively to dynamic challenges, ensuring that our work aligns with the UN's mission to promote peace, security and sustainable development.
What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?
My favorite technological initiative at the United Nations was the development of a digital health platform for remote medical support between the medical unit and paramedics, to respond more quickly and efficiently to cases presented by other regions. This project aimed to provide accessible and real-time healthcare services to communities in remote areas, ensuring they could receive timely and efficient care despite geographical challenges. My contribution included leading the coordination between medical teams, ensuring the usability of the platform, and integrating various data management tools to enhance its functionality. This initiative was especially rewarding because it directly impacted the well-being of vulnerable populations, using technology to bridge gaps in healthcare.
