What brought you to a career in technology at the United Nations?
My journey into technology at the United Nations was driven by a passion for leveraging innovative solutions to address global challenges. With a background in Data Science and project management, I was particularly inspired during my work in Audit and Investigations, where I saw how technology could enhance transparency and accountability. In my current role, I apply my expertise to drive data-driven decision-making and optimize operations. The opportunity to use data analytics technologies to support the UN’s mission further strengthens my passion for digital transformation and its ability to create a lasting impact.
What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?
One of my favorite technology initiatives has been the development of the Risk Assessment Model. This project was especially fulfilling as it required extensive collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving. The goal was to create a comprehensive framework that assesses risks across all areas subject to internal audit. Using specific metrics and weighted scores, the model allows auditors to analyze risk levels and, based on those scores, prepare audit strategies for cost centers in the upcoming year. This initiative has greatly enhanced the efficiency and effectiveness of audit planning.
