What brought you to a career in technology at the United Nations?

I am passionate about technology, hence I studied Information Technology and Database Management. After graduation, I joined the military, where I was posted to the Kenya Signals Corps, and I deployed with the Kenya Signals Company, which is part of the Field Technology Section.

By joining the United Nations, I'm able to provide technical support for systems and infrastructure, including networks, email systems and applications.

What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?

My favorite project is working in the Assets Projects and Planning office using the UMOJA platform, which enables us to provide the best client services, enhances accountability and transparency, and provides accurate reports and data.

What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?

My advice to women interested in Technology is to be patient and believe in yourself in whatever you do, and you will achieve your goals.
