Why did you decide on a career at the UN?
I chose a career at the UN because it represents the highest values humanity can aspire to. I see digital technologies as a uniquely transformative force for good. Working within the UN’s values and the IGF's multistakeholder framework allows me to help ensure that the digital environment remains safe, inclusive, and human rights-based - a true enabler of human progress.
What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?
One of the most valuable initiatives I’ve contributed to at the United Nations is strengthening local digital policy frameworks to align with and inform global approaches. Through my work with the IGF Secretariat, I’ve had the privilege of supporting multistakeholder cooperation that connects local realities to global Internet governance, ensuring inclusive and effective digital policymaking. This has resulted in the organic establishment of over 177 local IGFs around the world led by multistakeholder organizing teams.
What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?
The gender-based digital divide is deeply concerning. Our future is digital, and achieving genuine equity and equality depends on closing this gap. We cannot build an innovative, safe, and sustainable digital world without the full participation of women. I urge women everywhere, across all sectors and countries, to pursue careers in technology, as digital skills are essential for shaping an inclusive and equitable future.
