What brought you to a career in technology at the United Nations?
I wanted to join the UN with the mission to end inequalities, serve others and advocate for human rights. The international and multicultural environment is an enriching space.
What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?
While in the UN, I have enjoyed working with colleagues and external partners around the world to plan campaigns using social media platforms, audiovisual design programmes and CRM systems. Some of my favorite moments are the UNGA, International Days like Girls in ICT Day, and Earth Day. It's wonderful to work with policy experts and statisticians to shape a message and a story and then make products for the public.
What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?
Never stop learning. As tools and innovations evolve, they require us to also evolve. In the space of digital media, we have to keep an awareness of the technical aspect of using publishing, photo, analytics and design software, as well as understanding the diverse user experiences and audiences we are reaching with these materials.
