What brought you to a career in technology at the United Nations?
I have always been fascinated by issues related to women and children, especially issues that affect their wellbeing. That led me to study a course in planning and managing of water resources. Over time, environmental issues have been core to many world issues. I decided to pursue a Master's program in Water and Environmental Management, and currently, with the rapid changes in technology, i am applying technology to water related issues in UNSOS, through the use of Field Remote Infrastructure Monitoring (FRIM) of water supply, distribution and consumption and monitoring of production of treated wastewater, which is used for non-potable water uses.
What has been your favorite IT project at the United Nations and what was your technical contribution?
Utilization of Field Remote Infrastructure Monitoring (FRIM) of water supply, distribution and consumption and monitoring of production of treated wastewater, which is used for non-potable water uses.
What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?
If you have a vision, pursue it and never give up. Remain focused and you will succeed, no matter the challenges you face.
