What brought you to a career in technology at the United Nations?
I joined the United Nations as part of the Geospatial Information System (GIS) and continue to work in this field.
What has been your favorite IT project at the United Nations and what was your technical contribution?
The Second Administrative Level Boundaries (SALB) which aims to collect geospatial data at subnational units and boundaries, and common geographies. SALB data is utilized for better decision-making, providing stronger support to people and the planet, as well as monitor the Sustainable Development Goals. My contribution to this project includes coordinating with Members States, processing data, and publishing accurate and reliable country data.
What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?
Believe in yourself. Never stop learning and be open minded.
