Rations Management

The Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) is committed to developing enterprise-class technology solutions to address the many challenges faced by the United Nations. Rations management entails large-scale logistics services in the UN, with approximately 350,000 meals provided to peacekeepers daily.

The Electronic Rations Management System (eRMS) is an enterprise application that establishes a single, global, standardized solution for the management of UN food rations. eRMS provides automation for menu planning, ordering, receiving, and invoice verification processes, as well as contract administration functions for peacekeeping missions.

Currently, eRMS is implemented in two missions. Deployment will continue to other peacekeeping missions, at a rate of approximately 2 per year.
