High-Level Event on Human Security and its contribution to Agenda 2030

Friday, July 7, 2017 - 10:30 to 12:30

In advance of the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, the UN Human Security Unit is organising a High-Level Event on Human Security and its contribution to Agenda 2030. The event is co-sponsored by Austria, Chile, Cost Rica, Greece, Ireland, Japan, Jordan, Mali, Norway, Panama, Slovenia, Switzerland, Thailand, and South Africa.

The event offers an important opportunity to share experiences and lessons learned on how the human security approach based on a wealth of experience in more than 90 countries can help strengthen strategies, tools and partnerships to accelerate integrated and preventive actions towards achieving Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Panellists will enrich the discussions by considering the synergies between Agenda 2030 and other key global priorities including the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, the New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants, and the Sustaining Peace agenda.

We welcome your participation at this interactive high-level dialogue.

NOTE: If you do not have a UN pass, please be sure to register by 23 June 2017 on this site or by emailing kuboh@un.org so we can arrange for your pass.
