Why did you decide on a career at the UN?

My decision to pursue a career at the United Nations was shaped by my early experience in public-sector governance in Ghana, where I saw how data and policy intersect to influence national development outcomes. I became deeply interested in how institutions can use evidence to drive accountability, efficiency, and inclusive growth.

After advancing my technical expertise through an MBA in Business Analytics, I wanted to apply those skills in a setting where impact extends beyond borders. The UN represents that global platform, where data is not just analyzed, but translated into coordinated action that strengthens countries and improves lives.

Working within the Resident Coordinator system affirmed that choice. Being part of efforts that enhance operational oversight and system-wide reform has reinforced my commitment to serving at the intersection of data, governance, and international development.

What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?

One of my most rewarding experiences has been assisting in the design and development of operational dashboards for the Resident Coordinator system. I supported the consolidation of managerial data from multiple sources and contributed to building interactive dashboards that enhanced visibility into compliance, performance trends, and operational risks. Seeing senior leadership use these dashboards to inform strategic oversight and resource allocation reinforced for me the tangible impact that structured, high-quality data can have within the UN system.

What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?

Do not wait to feel “ready.” Build your skills, stay curious, and trust your capacity to grow. Technology is not just about systems — it is about shaping solutions that improve lives. When women lead in data and innovation, we help design a more inclusive and equitable future. Step forward boldly. The field of data and technology needs your perspective, your voice, and your leadership.
