Videographer / Project Management Officer, Communications and Outreach Unit
Why did you decide on a career at the UN?
I chose to pursue a career at the United Nations largely because of the unique opportunities it offers. It’s not every day that your work has the potential to reach and influence millions of people around the world, and for me, that’s an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.
Working in communications and social media at the UN allows me to help share the stories behind the life-changing projects and campaigns led by my colleagues. It’s incredibly rewarding to highlight the impact of this work and the meaningful difference these initiatives make for millions—sometimes even billions—of people globally.
What has been your favorite technology project or initiative at the United Nations and why? What was your contribution?
My favorite technology initiative at the United Nations has definitely been the Women in Tech campaign. As a videographer for the campaign, I conduct interviews and handle the editing and final production, which are then presented as part of the Women in Tech Voices series. Launched in March 2023, the initiative aims to increase the visibility of women working in technology across the United Nations, while also inspiring global engagement and fostering a more inclusive and diverse tech community within the organization.
Through this work, I have the opportunity to help highlight the wide range of roles, opportunities, challenges, and achievements of women in the technology field. Listening to their stories is truly inspiring—many share how they have navigated obstacles, grown stronger through those experiences, and excelled in areas that have traditionally been seen as male-dominated. These women are incredibly inspiring, and it is a great honor to be part of a team that helps amplify their voices and showcase their contributions.
What advice would you give women interested in pursuing a field in technology?
The advice I would give to women is to follow their dreams and pursue what truly inspires them. Challenges are a natural part of the journey—they don’t make goals impossible; they make them meaningful. Stay confident, embrace the struggle, and remember that you are capable of achieving far more than you may think.
